Meet Hakim

Hakim is a dedicated and thoughtful lawyer with experience in commercial litigation and professional liability. He is results-driven and client-centred in his approach to resolving disputes. 

As a litigator, Hakim has successfully represented clients before various courts and tribunals, showcasing his ability to navigate complex legal issues with care and precision. Hakim has a particular expertise in professional regulation, having regularly defended physicians in disciplinary proceedings.

Prior to resuming his legal practice, Hakim made significant contributions as a talent management leader at his prior firm. In this business services role, Hakim delivered strategic advice on key firm priorities and led national processes critical to the firm’s success. Hakim has supported the growth and development of many lawyers now working across Canada’s top law firms.

Hakim also has prior experience as an Investigator at one of Ontario’s largest professional regulators, sharpening his eye for critical evidence while conducting thorough investigations of complaints and reports.

Hakim draws from these diverse experiences to be a reliable strategic advocate and advisor to his clients.

Prior to joining Ivanov Katz LLP, Hakim was a Director of Professional Resources at McCarthy Tetrault LLP, overseeing litigation associates and the firm’s student program. Hakim started his legal career as a Summer Student at McCarthy Tétrault in 2014, before practicing as a litigator in the Firm’s renowned litigation group.
