Meet Alexia

Alexia is a dynamic and dedicated litigator. She brings to bear her background of academic excellence and practical experience in order to tackle complex challenges in the courtroom and beyond.

Alexia is building a broad litigation practice. As an articling student in the central litigation and advisory office for the Government of Ontario, Alexia was exposed to high-profile and high-stakes litigation. She has been involved in class actions regarding matters with a national impact and has supported counsel on a coroner’s inquest. She has also appeared in court on matters involving constitutionality and Crown liability. In this capacity, Alexia fiercely advocated for the public interest, while also ensuring self-represented litigants were afforded meaningful access to justice.

Alexia’s passion for advocacy was ignited through theatre and competitive slam poetry. She performed in a group that won a national slam poetry competition and later branched out into mooting. She was an avid mooter in law school at the University of Ottawa, where she was
recognized as the best advocate in a health law moot. She was also a member of the team that won best Memorandum to Cabinet in the Canadian Copyright Policy Moot.

Prior to joining Ivanov Katz LLP as an associate, Alexia completed her articles at the Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office – Civil. During law school, Alexia worked in plaintiff-side personal injury and interned in the office of Senator Kim Pate.
